Admissions

ECEC serves children from 18 months of age to kindergarten entry. We have an average daily attendance of 180 children. We also offer a summer school-age camp program for children 6 years – 8 years of age.

We accept children year-round as long as there is space available. If there is not an immediate opening for your child, we keep applications on file and contact you when a space becomes available. At that time, we schedule a meeting to complete the enrollment package.

After you have finished the enrollment agreement with ECEC, the expectation is that all paperwork and fees MUST be filled out, turned in, and paid by the child’s first day. That allows us (ECEC and your family) to focus on the transitioning child and not bureaucracy. Any change to the information on these forms should be immediately communicated to the ECEC office so the most up-to-date information is on file. Your child’s medical form must be renewed once every 12 months while enrolled at ECEC, per licensing guidelines, This is for the safety of your child and the other children in our care.

Please check our forms page for paperwork related to the enrollment process and other important documents you may need during the course of your child’s care and education at ECEC.

Child care subsidy (formerly the “voucher” program)

Child care subsidy reduces the amount of monthly tuition based on your family’s situation, which factors in household income and family size. The Ohio Department of Child and Family Services will determine if you qualify for this program.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK)

Children who are 3-5 years of age and not kindergarten eligible may qualify for a subsidy sponsored by Cuyahoga County’s Invest in Children.  This program is based on household income.  ECEC collects information that determines your eligibility.
